Overview:

Boeing's Advanced Design and Prototyping Solutions (ADaPS) organization is seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our team in Huntsville, AL.  The successful applicants will become part of the ADaPS team and work in the Software Engineering area.  The ADaPS organization supports a diverse portfolio of customers including the Department of Defense, NASA, Homeland Security and Boeing Commercial Aircraft.

 
Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate's tasks may include development of models and simulations for SLS, development of algorithms and software for a commercial, military and business aviation next generation flight planning system, and other Software Engineering activities led and supported by ADaPS. 
  • The successful candidate must support the full Software/Systems Engineering lifecycle; including requirements analysis/development, software design, software development, integration of software into larger/3rd party environments, and test planning/development. 
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for activities including but not limited to: requirements support, program documentation, software design, software development, software test, software bug analysis, and software verification in languages such as C/C++#, Java, Python, bash, Lua, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • They may also define and review requirements, perform peer reviews, conduct integration testing, develop software tools, and deploy products.

Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to independently develop and execute one or more technical planning and control activities to ensure program management has program status and decision data in place.
  • The successful candidates will be responsible for the design and development of quality products, the resolution of cross-functional technical issues, the exercise of strong communication skills, and work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple projects concurrently.
  • The candidate must be capable of working with geographically disperse teams.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. 
  • An understanding of Systems Engineering. 
  • C/C++/C#/Java software development experience.

 

Assets:

  • Experience with real-time embedded computing resource management, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), models and simulations, algorithm development or ground systems preferred. 
  • Experience in Agile or SAFe software development methods is a plus. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse, or Unity development is also a plus.

Level 3:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
