Job Description
PROGRAM INFORMATION: 
The Missile Defense National Team B provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.
 
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include development, prototyping, analysis, and implementation of target tracking, sensor netting, target discrimination, and battle management algorithms; implementing algorithms in a MATLAB prototype environment; modification of the prototype to ingest early intercept tracking (and eventually advanced battle management) algorithms; performing comparative data analysis to assess algorithm performance; and review of the content and details of technical products.
 
 
This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications (Requirements):

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 
  • This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  
  • Position requires a current / active Secret Clearance - US Citizenship Required. 
  • KALMAN filtering, track filtering, missile fly-out, intercept tracking, engagement dynamics, sensor netting, target discrimination, and/or track fusion.
  • Experience with software development and data analysis in MATLAB required; C, C++, and/or Fortran experience also required.
  • Candidate should possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with defining and developing an evolving BMDS Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications capability.
  • Minimum of 3 years of software/systems engineering experience including developing new and integrating existing radar signal processing and tracking systems.
  • Experience with missile defense battle management and command & control systems required. 
  • Ability to implement engineering plans within a project.
  • In depth knowledge of systems and software engineering concepts, principles, and techniques.

Assets:

  • Experience with missile defense and the development and integration of large scale Command & Control, and Battle Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of IR a plus.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
