The Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program's Ground Based Interceptor (GBI) team has a need for a software modeling & simulation engineering analyst in Huntsville, Alabama. The GMD System is the first and only operationally deployed missile defense program to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. The system provides early detection and tracking during the boost phase, midcourse target discrimination, precision intercept and destruction of inbound ICBMs through force of hit-to-kill technology. As prime contractor, Boeing is designing, producing, integrating, testing and sustaining all GMD components.
This position is for an entry level software engineer who will be paired with a Boeing senior analyst to ensure GMD Interceptor Kill Vehicle (KV) simulations and analyses meet program needs.
Typical tasks will include:
Simulation Engineering Analysts typically execute systems engineering processes to perform end-to-end system performance analysis, conduct test flight planning analyses, perform trade studies for upgrades and new systems, develop element and system model representations, and conduct architecture studies and assessments.
Up to 50% travel may be required.
Position responsibilities are commensurate with 0 to 3 years of engineering experience.

Basic Qualifications (Required):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Software/Computer, Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or Physics degree preferred. Advanced coursework in mathematics, physics, algorithm development or systems engineering processes preferred.
