Software Engineer, Flight Dynamics
Performs engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems. Work is reviewed for application of professional judgement.
Reviews simulator engineering specifications, malfunction documents and flight test or other aircraft data.
Implements all standard flight simulation software and integrates the software with that of the other engineering disciplines.
Directs flight testing for simulator validation and reviews gathered data.
Develops and/or implements complete flight program Math Model and source code as required by the aircraft simulator specification.
Reduces and integrates flight test data into off-line simulation environment.
Determines flight test data to be used in and prepares the Qualification Test Guide.
Using the off-line simulation environment or the simulator, performs procedures to empirically refine a software design meeting all applicable objective and subjective criteria.
Works with engineering colleagues, project engineers and others to achieve a smoothly integrated system. Utilizes software log and hardware deficiency reports to inform co-workers.
Works with FSI learning center personnel to correct any flight systems program problems during on-site acceptance of the simulator.
Supports FAA or other governmental simulator qualification.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably Aerospace or Aeronautical; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Microsoft Office and FORTRAN. Simulink and C desired
