Job Summary

Rockwell Collins develops and builds simulators and training devices for both military and commercial customers. These are extremely high fidelity devices that replicate all the functions and capabilities of the real system. Whether it’s a flight simulator for a 737 or a mission trainer for an E-2 or the full capabilities of a B-52, Rockwell Collins engineers have the ability to get deeply involved in learning each system’s operational and failure modes and then to model that system with software. This is your chance to get deeply involved with the full software lifecycle from requirements to design to code and test for real systems and for you to make a real difference.

The Rockwell Collins Avionics and Mission Systems team will allow you the opportunity to experience all facets of simulation work within an environment looking to innovate new processes/technology to better leverage the Government Systems market.

Job Responsibilities

*

Assist in development detailed software specifications and provide accurate time estimates for the software development

*

Design, develop, implement, test, and debug real time, multi-threaded, multiprocessing software applications and associated user interfaces

*

Support and enhance existing software products as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

*

BA or BS degree in CS or Computer Engineering required

*

1-5 years of experience with developing applications C++ or Java

*

Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, support)

*

Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

*

Good written and oral communication skills

*

Familiar with Linux development

*

Scripting Languages (Python, Perl, etc.)

*

Installers (MSI, RPM, DEB etc.)

*

Source code control (SVN, Git, ClearCase etc.)
