The position is located at FlightSafety Simulation - Visual Systems in St. Louis, Missouri, a company specializing in the design, development, and build of high fidelity visual systems used in commercial and military aviation programs. Our VITAL visual systems are integrated into complex fixed base and full six degree of freedom motion based simulator training systems and provide the images pilots see out of their windows during simulated flight. Visual Systems has been an industry leading developer and manufacturer of real-time 3D graphics systems for more than 40 years.
Develops, implements and maintains test plans and test cases across a diverse suite of products. Strives to deliver software with a high quality end customer experience. Achieve compliance to business and technical requirements.
Insures that software development confirms to documented requirements, as supplied.
Documents deviations in detail using defect-tracking tools such as Bugzilla and JIRA.
Participates through the entire product lifecycle including requirements, design, review, beta and final releases if requested by software engineering.
Develops test plans/specifications, test case specifications, test cases, executes test cases, maintains test logs, and publishes test results.
Files defect report, analysis of failure and verification of fixes.
Troubleshoots issues as they occur.
Contributes to continuous improvement and quality of the testing.
Continues to stay up-to-date with software quality testing technical literature and standards which can be provided through Company paid training or seminars.
Reviews computer logs and reports to identify program processing errors and possible improvements.
Assists user to isolate possible problems in software after implementation as requested.
Conducts compatibility tests with other software programs, hardware, multiple operating systems, and network environments.
Monitors program performance after implementation to prevent recurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation through regression testing.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS
Associates Degree in a technical discipline (engineering preferred) plus three years experience in direct technical support of flight simulator visual systems.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of C/C++, Shell Scripts, UNIX, Linux, PERL, and Visual Basic Development software and Microsoft Outlook, Windows and word software. Knowledge of Linux, Solaris and Windows base Operating systems.
