Division :             Finance- Revenue Accounting
Location:             Phoenix, AZ        
Reports to:          Revenue Accounting Department              
  
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring all accounting procedures/processes are completed to meet daily/monthly deadlines/closing schedules.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs general accounting tasks/duties (e.g., conducts audits, reconciles accounts, completes debit memos, completes journal vouchers, etc.)
  • Monitors, identifies, and resolves potential workflow problems within the department
  • Assists in performing quality control duties (e.g., completes quality audits)
  • Performs a variety of other functions/ad-hoc projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor/manager to aid in the department's/company's achievement of goals and business objectives
  • Researches and resolves accounting discrepancies in a timely manner, including correspondence with external contacts, when necessary 
  • Performs other duties as requested

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Accounting degree or equivalent experience/training (minimum 2 years’ experience)
 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles/procedures
  • Knowledge of airline ticketing policies/procedures, tariffs/taxes
  • Knowledge of auditing procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Airline/travel agency accounting experience
  • Accounting research skills/experience
  • Experience/knowledge specific to individual Revenue Accounting department
