Moog Inc, was founded in 1951 when Bill Moog had one product and a vision of company culture so strong that it became the foundation of the company that we are today. We operate within a culture of trust and mutual respect, allowing our engineers to collaborate and produce cutting edge technology, as well as aiding our business in the ability to share goals and achieve them together. Our lines of precision motion control technology can be seen at the forefront of military and commercial aircraft markets, space exploration, and oil and gas markets to name a few.

Our Aircraft Group in East Aurora, NY is hiring for a Development Engineer. The Development Engineer contribute to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and test of complex control hardware used on military, commercial and NASA vehicles and equipment. The products of Moog generally are unique for each customer. Therefore, most new applications require a special, tailored design, even though adaptation of existing designs always should be considered where appropriate. The Development Engineer will operate as part of a design/development team, which includes other Department engineers.

As a Senior Design Engineer you’ll need extensive experience in creating successful designs of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, mechanical, hydromechanical and electropneumatic components and system, with a focus on hydraulic pump and motor design. You’ll plan and conduct efforts requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

In this position you’ll be expected to:

*

Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.

*

Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.

*

Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.

*

Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.

*

Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.

*

Maintain currency with materials technology, industry design requirements (Military, FAA, NASA, etc.), and modern design analysis tools.

In addition to the above experience you’ll need:

*

At least a BS degree in engineering (preferably MS degree)

*

At least 15 years of extensive experience creating successful hydraulic pump and/or motor designs.

*

Experience with closed loop systems, fluid power control, servomechanisms, fracture mechanics and Computer Aided Design.

*

Broad background in design analysis, including stress analysis, kinematics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and vibration is essential.

*

Proven record of accomplishments including successfully developed and produced designs and a demonstrated ability to participate in a product design team.

We work in an environment where people trust, respect and encourage one another. We believe in our people and it shows in everything we do. We'd like to invite you to become part of our continued success.
