The primary responsibility of this position is to develop test SW for new aviation product developments. The Test Engineering CoE develops an array of innovative test equipment solutions for Rockwell Collins products and programs. These test solutions are primarily targeted to our manufacturing and service customers, but are also delivered and used for engineering development and qualification efforts.
The engineer who fills this position must have systems, development, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. This position may also lead software developments. The primary SW languages used are LabVIEW, TestStand, C++ and C# on multi-rack test stations. These test stations include but are not limited by the following COTs equipment: fiber optic measuring devices, optical measuring devices, emulators, oscilloscopes, DMM's, and power supplies. This position also requires development and support of Environmental Stress Screening (thermal and vibration) test equipment and software suites. Many of the products also requires RF knowledge.

Responsibilities:
* Software test development design through implementation and deployment into manufacturing
* Develop Software and perform Systems Integration for the test CoE for all products
* Develop Requirements Based Test Procedures and perform requirements based verification including test coverage analysis
* Work with internal and external teams to coordinate requirements and development efforts
* Keep yourself up to date with the latest trends in software engineering and tools
* Collaborate and interact in a multi-functional, multi-discipline development team
* Perform autonomously under the direction of technical and program management
* Provide insight to program leadership on implications of hardware and software product changes to the test development
* Perform autonomously under the direction of technical and program management
*Provide technical information to project management for bids of medium to high complexity development projects
*Coordinating test equipment design reviews and ensuring the generation of appropriate design documentation
* Create and present task status and technical solutions to team members, engineering leadership
* Project risk identification, mitigation, and escalation
* Utilize strong interaction and interpersonal skills to drive team to success
* Read and understand test requirements to predict execution issues
* Work with the teams and other team leads to resolve complex issues

Qualifications:
* Experience with developing and supporting software for test applications
* Strong understanding of software engineering state of the art practices
* Self-starter that can work in a highly cross functional environment and remove roadblocks

* Fundamental knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Software Systems engineering and Test Equipment

Additional skills a plus:

*LabVIEW/TestStand/C++/Ada/Visual Basic
* Prior experience leading SW projects from conception to implementation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline required.

US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required. Candidate must have the following experience:
software experience
STEM degree - EE desired
Understanding of Manufacturing test environment/needs
Test experience
