Imagine a working environment where people trust each other to achieve exceptional things.

*

Imagine a business that employs over ten thousand of the world’s most sought-after engineers and technologists.

*

Imagine an enterprise where a belief in personal accountability continues to drive groundbreaking innovation and global growth.

*

This is the reality of Moog – and you can be part of it.

In 1951 when Bill Moog founded Moog Inc., he had one product and a vision of company culture so strong that it became the foundation of the company we are today. We operate within a culture of trust and mutual respect, allowing our engineers to collaborate and produce cutting edge technology, as well as aiding our business in the ability to share goals and achieve them together. Today Moog is the premier provider of performance motion control technology; we are represented by our Aircraft, Space & Defense, Industrial and Components Groups.

Currently within our Space and Defense Group, we are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the Propulsion and Fluid Control portion of the group which primarily includes Launch Vehicle Propulsion Systems. The incumbent is a primary motivator and contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex control hardware used on military, commercial and NASA vehicles and equipment. The products of Moog generally are unique for each customer. Therefore, most new applications require a special, tailored design, even though adaptation of existing designs always should be considered where appropriate. The incumbent will operate either independently or as part of a design/development team, which includes other Department engineers. His/her primary concerns are system or component performance and integration, both being achieved within budget and prescribed schedules. The incumbent will coordinate the work of drafters, technicians, designers, analysts, manufacturing engineers and others who assist in specific assignments.

Here is an idea of what you'll be accountable for:

*

Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.

*

Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.

*

Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.

*

Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and shoulder the responsibility for writing the technical volume.

*

Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.

*

Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.

*

Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.

*

Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.

*

Consult on new product and market development efforts.

*

Assist in interviewing, training, and counseling junior engineers.

*

When applicable supervise subordinate engineers and project/product engineering technicians

To be considered for this position:

*

Must have BS degree in Engineering, preferably Master or PhD in Engineering.

*

Demonstrated engineering leadership skills, a continued desire to utilize these skills and the ability to mentor and coach other engineers to achieve leadership on complex development and production projects.

*

In depth understanding achieved through experience in the design, analysis, and development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, or electro-pneumatic servomechanisms.

*

Experience with precision fluid control hardware (ball valves, sleeve valves, solenoid valves, regulators and latch valves) for propulsion and life support systems would be highly desirable. Cryogenic valve experience is also desirable.

*

Have the ability to understand new technical concepts and products.

*

Ability to gather data and utilize this data to make decisions to improve the business. If data does not exist, work with the appropriate stakeholders to generate the data to support strong business decisions

*

Must have a proven record of successful development programs working as a part of a project team.

*

Travel Requirements: Travel to other Moog sites, customer sites, and trade shows (primarily US based) is required. Up to 20%.

At Moog we solve our customer’s most difficult problems!
