Responsibilities:

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT

  • Expertise in Revenue Management or Pricing Strategy / Technology is a benefit
  • Use extensive technology skills (Java, SQL, VBA, Access and Excel) and SWA business knowledge to build, update, and maintain scalables applications, datasets, and automated processes to support Department
  • Utilize business and technology expertise to assist Technology Department with development and maintenance of Revenue Management applications; including data infrastructure design and maintenance
  • Implement quality checks to ensure processes are running as scheduled and impact to performance is tracked
  • Provide appropriate written documentation of tools, processes, and projects
  • Present project updates, strategy decisions and new initiatives to Operations Research team and other Director-level SWA Leaders when appropriate
  • Assist in training Revenue Management Analysts on Revenue Management and Pricing systems, analysis tools, and data sources
  • Recommend, test, analyze, and report changes to settings in Revenue Management systems
  • Utilize appropriate software management procedures, standards, and best practices as defined by Team
  • Serve as subject matter expert for assigned tasks/projects
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. 

EDUCATION:

  • College degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Math, Business, MIS, Statistics or Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 to 5 years in Revenue Management or highly technical environment required
  • 2 to 4 years (intermediate) practical experience required in the following technologies:

           -   Java  programming        

           -   Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • 1 to 2 years (beginner) practical experience preferred in the following technologies:

           -   Source Control  - e.g. ClearCase/Subversion/Git

           -   Integrated Development Environment  - e.g. Eclipse

           -   Relational database systems (preferrably Oracle)

           -   HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery

           -   Visual Basic

           -   Linux

  • Ability to make decision in an ambiguous environment

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous working experience in airline highly preferred.

  • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information. 
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
