Job Description

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a lead Structural Analysis Engineer with a desire to work in the world's largest aerospace company.  Our Oklahoma City Stress Engineering team supports structural modifications and repairs, large scale and component testing and Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs.


Our structural analysis includes, but is not limited to, static strength, damage tolerance and durability.



  • Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Guides the successful completion of aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
  • Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-years experience working with aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis
  • Experience functioning as technical lead of a project or program
  • Experience performing static and repairs analysis on aircraft
  • Minimum of 5-years experience performing stress analysis using classical stress analysis techniques; finite element modeling (PATRAN, Stresscheck, Mechanica), and Durability and Damage Tolerance (D&DT) Tools

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in corrosion prevention and control
  • Experience with structural or material testing
  • Working knowledge of fracture mechanics and damage tolerance analysis
  • Experience providing conceptual design and analysis support for repairs of primary and secondary structures

Typical Experience & Education:

Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
