Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general supervision.
Composite Stress Analysis – Applies failure criteria and modes, environmental effects, and lamination theory to perform stress analysis of composite structures.
Develop Structural Methods - Develops new structural analysis methods and tools to advance the company's competitive advantage.
Fatigue/Durability Analysis –Applies classical and durability methods to analyze, validate, and achieve design service objectives.
Damage Tolerance - Applies fracture mechanics principles and analysis codes (e.g. AFGRO, ABAQUS VCCT) to analyze, validate, and achieve design service objectives.
Non/Linear Finite Element Method - Applies linear and non-linear finite element methods and tools (NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS, PATRAN) to develop structural models and compute deflections, loads, stresses, natural frequencies, and mode shapes.
Structural Test Support - Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
Structural Engineering - Applies structural engineering (e.g., strength of materials, freebody diagrams, buckling, statics, dynamics) and scientific principles to develop, design, analyze, test, and validate structures solutions. Conduct detailed analysis (e.g., classical techniques, finite element methods, JOLT, CSW, FEADMS, IAS, Unigraphics, CATIA, and Teamcenter, ENOVIA) on metallic and/or composite structures to determine structural integrity.
Structures Programming - Writes software programs (e.g. Fortran, Python, Matlab, VB) to enhance and automate the performance of structural analysis tasks.

ABET accredited degree and experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Structural Engineering.
Ideal candidates will have experience with classical structural analysis, composite structural analysis, fatigue analysis, damage tolerance, structural and flight test support, software/scripting/automation, NASTRAN, and Abaqus. Rotorcraft structural analysis experience a plus.
