Position Description: 

Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements. Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Works under minimal direction. 

Duties: 
-Perform structural analysis engineering work for larger commercial aircraft primary fuselage structures - composites 
-Perform detailed sizing and static stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of assigned engineering detailed parts and assemblies 
-Calculate and provide requisite property data for internal loads finite element model generation 
-Extract and utilize finite element analysis inter loads data 
-Produce stress finite element models to support sizing and structural analysis 
- -Product structural analysis substantiation strength check notes/report in support of certification 
-Experience working with CATIA V5 and Enovia 

Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience required for candidates with a four-year degree 

Skills: 
-Previous Company Co. primary fuselage structures experience preferred 
-Experience with Company stress analysis tools: IAS, FEADMS, FAMOSS, MOSS-Duberg, IDTAS, DTANL, SA preferred 
-Proficiency with MSC Patran and Nastran 
-Ability to interrogate 3D model data using CATIA V5 is required 
-Experience with Enovia LCA 
-Company IVT digital mockup experience preferred 
-Experience with Abaqus CAE preferred

787 Composite Fuselage Analysis Experience (BCA tools) 
FEA - Nastran, Abaqus 

Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
