The Structural Test Lab is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer with experience operating Load Control Systems and/or Data Acquisition Systems as they relate to the static and dynamic testing of aircraft. Successful applicant would provide operational support of our Structural Test Lab including participating in the setup and operation of load control systems and computer based data acquisition systems to support the conduct of static and fatigue test programs.
Experience with HBM data acquisition systems and/or MOOG Load Control Systems is a Requirement and extensive knowledge of the system internals is desired.
Applicants with expertise in the configuration, programming and troubleshooting of these specific hardware and software platforms would fill our needs best.
Applicants with knowledge of transducer applications and the ability to evaluate data quality are also desired.
Duties would include generation of measurement circuit designs and transducer wiring diagrams as well as support of the maintenance and operation of state-of-the-art Load Control Systems built by Moog and/or measurement systems built by HBM. Successful applicant would direct the evaluation and selection process of appropriate test equipment and execute the various sensor installation phases for assigned major aerospace test programs while providing technical guidance to instrumentation technicians and junior test engineers. Tasks will also include program planning to assure that resources are being effectively utilized.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. See Other Requirements in Job Description. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development
