Overview:

Provide analysis support to various engineering departments requiring substantiation and produce

quality engineering documentation for use in the FAA certification process.

 

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Analyze and check engineering data produced by other engineering groups to ensure it meets the requirements for FAA certification and HAECO Cabin Solutions ("HAECO") procedures/manuals.
  2. Create and develop engineering substantiation reports that will be used to certify products/kits and installation of products/kits.
  3. Work with HAECO DER’s and ODA Engineers to assure that related CFR’s are addressed.
  4. Maintain analysis notes in a usable, traceable file that serves as a historical substantiation record.
  5. Serve as the primary focal point for HAECO engineers, customers & technical personnel regarding substantiation issues and as assigned by management.
  6. Assist and guide Engineers in accomplishing substantiation tasks.
  7. Maintain and expand expertise on Federal Aviation Regulations (CFR’s), Airworthiness Directives (AD’s), Alternate Means of Compliance (AMOC) & related regulatory requirements & processes.
  8. Provide input and suggestions for continuous improvement of various department procedures, controls, flows and systems, and become familiar with HAECO’s internal policies and procedures.
  9. Coordinate, in a professional manner, with customers, major manufacturers, vendors, FAA, or other outside agencies to promote and support HAECO’s technical interests.
  10. Support other Engineering groups as workload requirements dictate.
  11. Develop expertise on internal HAECO policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM:

  1. BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or related scientific field.
  2. Six (6) years industry experience in engineering field, preferably dealing in interiors of transport category aircraft.
  3. Minimum three (3) years performing analysis on transport category aircraft.
  4. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and substantiation methods.
  5. Must possess extensive knowledge of fabrication practices, aviation hardware and general aircraft maintenance and modification operations.
  6. Must possess extensive knowledge of aircraft type specific information involving modifications, service problems, repairs, etc.
  7. Must have extensive knowledge of the use and application of aircraft technical data such as engineering drawings, SRM’s, MM’s, SB’s, IPC’s, etc.
  8. Must possess proficiency with personal computer systems with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  9. Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  10. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work under pressure and with a minimum level of supervision.
  11. Must possess ability to maneuver around airplanes (i.e. climbing stairs, on work stands, man lifts, etc.) and in confined areas (i.e. cargo compartments, fuel tanks, E/E bays, etc.). Must also be able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
  12. Must be able to sit and work efficiently at video display terminals for extended periods of time.
