Responsibilities:

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

  • Evaluate the performance of subordinates using quantitative and observed qualitative criteria.
  • Conducts regular performance reviews with the AD Compliance Team taking actions to improve under-performance.
  • Ensures controls are established for AD's that are adequately and effectively maintained.
  • Monitors the Federal Register and FAA Website for AD's, Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) and Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin.
  • Assessing project team members, ensuring the best use of people and resources within the AD Compliance Group and follows up to verify compliance in accordance with the SWA MPM.
  • Assists AD Project Leads in evaluating and understanding documents to determine and ensure compliance with specific AD's.
  • Reviews compliance documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews Alternate Means of Compliance requests drafted by Project Leads prior to submittal to FAA.
  • Ensures Pre-AD Set-Up meetings are being held and that all parties are in attendance. Ensures meetings are held in a consistent manner.
  • Provides supervision and training for the AD Compliance Department.
  • Maintains the AD Compliance database and ensure metrics related to the performance goals are readily available.
  • Represents the Technical Operations Department on assignments; prepares written and oral presentations to leadership when requested.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

 

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. 

Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. 

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelors of Science Degree, Engineering or Valid A&P License, required. 

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • Airline experience in quality assurance environment, three years minimum is preferred
  • Minimum of two years Leadership experience is preferred

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION: 

  • A&P or Audit Certification preferred.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:  

  • Must have the ability to speak, hear, walk and remain in the sitting position for long periods of time.
  • Must have clear vision with the ability to view and read a VDT on a continuous basis.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

  • Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.
  • Must have basic knowledge of the working systems of an aircraft.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple activities.
  • Must work well under tight time constraints in a stressful environment to accomplish assignments and projects.
  • Must be PC literate and have experience in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Must have the ability to motivate and mentor others.
  • Must have the ability to understand and interpret the Code of Federal Regulations and technical documents.

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines. 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information in daily tasks.
  • Must be able to work under tight time constraints. 

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
