The Supervisor Network Security leads a skilled team of engineers that are experts at managing Network Security products and services in an enterprise environment. This team, in collaboration with other teams and business stakeholders, is responsible for ensuring security services such as the following are resilient and managed according to business and customer requirements.

* VPN Services (Remote Access VPN and Business-to-Business VPN tunnels)

* Wireless Network Access Control (NAC)

* TACACS and RADIUS Authentication

* Firewall Access Request (FAR) services

As changes occur in the environment or organization the supervisor will be responsible for managing the services delegated to the team. Our managed platforms include, but are not limited to, technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc. The Supervisor of Network Security plays a critical role in organizing and ensuring the success of the Network Security services mentioned above. In addition to supervising the team this individual will be involved in activities such as project work, operations and engineering efforts. This will be achieved through ongoing planning, coordination and alignment, both internally within the team, and also with partner teams such as Network Engineering. This supervisor must have excellent communication skills which are required to communicate effectively within the team, with customers, and with business stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide leadership to a team of Network Security engineers while fostering an environment of cohesiveness

* Provide leadership that embody the attributes of caring, collaboration, development, results and focus on the future

* Evaluate new product lines and features for currently supported products

* Level-of-effort assessments for various projects and deliverables for both internal and external clients

* Enroll in leadership training courses to develop the attributes espoused by American Airlines

* Comprehension and understanding of vendor roadmaps and release schedules

* Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation

* Participate in an on-call rotation for outside business hours escalations

* Responsible for production and lab infrastructure specific to platforms under ownership

* Anticipate operational issues and develop preventative measures

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in a technology or engineering field

* Exceptional organizational skills that include efficiently managing multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

* Experience holding a position of primary responsibility for a product and/or service

* Ability to achieve results working in a cross-department and cross-functional environment

* Hands-on experience with the following security products and services such as Cisco firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper VPN appliances, Cisco ISE/AnyConnect, Wireless NAC, B2BVPN tunnels, Firewall Services, and Network Security Best Practices

* Hands-on experience in a networking role with the responsibility of configuring/deploying routers and switches and troubleshooting network related issues

* 7 years working within Information Technology and 3 years specifically in Information Security

* Strong organization skills and personal framework for consistency, accuracy and repeatable deliverables

* Strong communication skills - written and verbal, team player for both technical and non-technical audiences

* Ability to drive key initiatives, with minimal direction with strong interpersonal and client service skills

* Demonstrated experience in fostering collaboration, innovation, creativity and teamwork, analytical capabilities

* Strong problem solving skills, providing solutions in a systematic and clear manner, easily understood and followed by subordinates and colleagues

* Must be familiar with security software products and audit tools used in distributed computing environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Internet security, network security technologies and third party security or audit tools is required.

* Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems, tools and applications

* Familiarity with cryptography solutions and processes and their relevance to secure VPN solutions

* CCNA, CCNP or Palo Alto PCNSE

* Working understanding of Agile software development

* Strong technical background in networking and security technologies

* TCP/IP protocol suite; advanced subletting and network address translation

* Extensive experience with routing protocols and concepts

* Solid comprehension of packet analysis and demonstrated ability troubleshooting incidents using security tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, nmap, SIEM (log analysis) and IDS/IPS.

* Experience building and administering UNIX/Linux based security appliances and/or servers.

* Understanding of proxy technologies such as Bluecoat, and McAfee or similar products

* CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC or other security certifications highly desired
