The Stores Supervisor coordinates the day-to-day operations by leading and organizing the activities of Stores team members and training the team on all phases of parts handling and distribution. The Stores team provides the Maintenance department with sufficient and appropriate supplies, tools and materials to conduct maintenance in a timely and orderly fashion. The Supervisor designs work tasks and assigns qualified personnel to best achieve the desired end product which includes coordinating resources to accomplish the existing or anticipated work load.
The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. The Supervisor safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. The Supervisor will ensure parts and supplies are stored in secure, environmentally controlled conditions which are adequate for the protection against contamination, control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the data storage system. The Supervisor must maintain the physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
In this role, the Stores Supervisor is responsible for complying with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements which is accomplished by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management of necessary actions. The Supervisor is responsible for achieving financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances. The Supervisor maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and will provide guidance to the team on performance issues as well as coach and counsel personnel; maintain time and attendance records, personnel files and performance records.
In this role, the Stores Supervisor must possess strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively and efficiently manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team environment and the ability to prioritize work and projects in order to meet competing deadlines from members of the team. The ability to show initiative and critical thinking skills are necessary. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.
