Role Summary:
The Systems Architect will lead the development of avionics systems architectures and set technical direction for advanced technology teams responsible for implementation. In the role of Systems Architect, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, the Systems Architect will:

* Monitor emerging standards, evaluate the implications for future avionics architectures, and recommend strategies for adoption.
* Develop and investigate new aircraft system architectures and concepts
* Interface with customers, partner companies, suppliers, and other senior leadership within the company
* Participate in technical reviews of systems across the business
* Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as subsystem avionics product groups and third-party suppliers
* Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or
Computer Science from an accredited college or university
* Minimum of 10 years
of technical and/or project leadership experience in Military Avionics Systems
and related Product design and development
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft
systems and sub-systems requirements definition, design, architecture,
integration, verification, and qualification
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in dealing
with customers and suppliers and interfacing with senior leadership within the
company

ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS:

* This role is restricted to U.S. persons
(i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals
under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to
access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior
to employment
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security
Clearance

Desired Characteristics:

* Prior experience in defining architectures and requirements for aircraft systems
* Ability to guide and lead technical teams
* Strong technical and project leadership experience in aircraft systems development
* Experience in sub-system requirements definition for mission systems, sensors and radios, datalink, auto flight systems, on-board maintenance systems, integrated surveillance systems, environmental / thermal control systems
* Experience with military development standards and processes
* Experience with military interface standards and systems standards; in particular FACE, OMS, and UxAS
* Experience using models and modeling tools to simulate and validate architectures and system designs
* Familiarity with systems engineering processes including requirements definition, aircraft integration, flight testing, system safety, and requirements verification
* Familiarity with modeling tools and processes to automate and streamline aircraft systems engineering
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
* Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
* Demonstrated leadership in advancing the state of the art in a technical specialty
