JOB DESCRIPTION

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the engineering data, instructions, documents and technical support that economically ensures the safety, airworthiness and reliability of NetJets aircraft within the following ATA chapter subjects: 11, 12, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 (systems aspects), 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 35, 36, 38 and 52 (systems aspects).

25%: Issue instructions and documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy and timely manner.

20%: Liaise with manufacturers, maintenance representatives, Maintenance and Repair Organizations (MRO) facilities and aftermarket engineering firms, regulatory authority and other outside agencies to ensure that engineering work on NJA aircraft complies with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR's).

20%: Analyze systems related findings from Scheduled Maintenance and other inspection and recommend changes to the Fleet Maintenance Programs. Coordinates with Technical Services Program Managers and Maintenance Program Technical Writers to facilitate.

20%: Develop plans, instructions and documents to comply with CFRs, Airworthiness Directives (AD's) and Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM's) and to resolve non-mandatory in-service issues.

15%: Develops and manages future technical, engineering related functions/projects as assigned. Support the NJA Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System, Aircraft Maintenance Review Board and Safety Management Systems.

REQUIREMENTS

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Course of Study/Major: Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or similar Engineering
Type of Credentials/Licenses: Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate or experience in aviation maintenance.
Related Work Experience: 4-6 years

  • Previous experience in airline engineering functions with a minimum of 4 years in aviation Engineering, Technical Services or Maintenance Quality.
  • Experience writing and implementing engineering orders, engineering authorizations, campaign directives and typical repairs. 
  • Strong familiarity with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR's) Major/Minor alteration and repair, Designated Engineering Representative (DER) processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional, mutually beneficial working relationship with technical and quality functions and the FAA.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
