Full time position within the Information Technology department at KBRwyle, responsible for the planning and engineering of the organization's systems infrastructure. Responsibilities include the implementation and design of hardware and software. Monitors the performance of systems. Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Works closely with Information and Network Security personnel to design and manage security technologies into our system architectures.

  • Works within the infrastructure team to support KBRwyle’s mixed OS environments (Windows, Linux, Unix)

  • Consistently interfaces with the Infrastructure Manager to manage daily issues and tasks related to corporate systems architecture

  • Participates in the development and maintenance of infrastructure systems and hardware

  • Participates in the troubleshooting of software and hardware issues in a dynamic environment

  • Assists in translating requests into hardware/software requirements and design specifications

  • Design and implement system security and data assurance

  • Tracking and reporting system capacity issues: bandwidth, memory, storage, CPU utilization

  • Applying system upgrades, security patches and testing software applications and systems

  • Participates with our system development and support teams to gain understanding of the infrastructure architecture required to support KBRwyle systems

  • Daily interaction with the service desk call management system in relation to infrastructure tickets, break fix and project related requests

Required Experience 

  • Associate’s degree preferred, or equivalent technical training desired

  • Typically requires 1 to 3 years of relevant experience

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft system administration

  • Good understanding of networking (e.g. switching, routing, firewalls, physical cabling)

  • Experience with virtual environments and storage a plus

  • Candidate should be flexible and willing to learn new technologies

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of computer equipment

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate DoD security clearance

  • Microsoft certifications a plus (MCSA, MCITP, etc.)
