The Systems Engineer will manage and support the development, review, editing, and approval/release of Draft and/or Final Requirement Documents including the supporting required analyses of alternatives. Candidate must effectively coordinate the inputs and efforts of subordinate and partner organizations and subject matter experts to generate/support rapid responses in a dynamic environment with limited resources. Responses must be produced in accordance with (IAW) applicable DoD, U.S. Navy and industry standards, specifications, directives, and instructions. Candidate will be required to effectively coordinate technical inputs from government subject matter experts, industry standards, and user groups to develop system requirements and performance specifications to support acquisition, fielding and sustainment of UAS platforms, systems, and the associated support and training infrastructures. The ability to communicate effectively with U.S. Navy and industry leadership, user groups, and government/industry engineers is mandatory.
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and five (5) years of experience is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
Experience/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience must include familiarity with the training, employment/operations, and sustainment associated with manned and/or unmanned U.S. Navy UAS and carrier aircraft and weapon systems. Specific experience required includes demonstrated proficiency with UAS and/or carrier aviation acquisition, development, test and evaluation. Familiarity with current U.S. Navy Carrier Aviation Operations and UAS procedures to develop MQ-25 requirement documentation is required. Candidate must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidate must have knowledge of the U.S. Navy tools, processes, and procedures. Candidate must be responsive to project demands and must be able to function efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced, on-base environment. The candidate should have expertise in the research, analysis and documentation of system requirements and capabilities. Experience with deployed/overseas U.S. Navy carrier tactics and training procedures and/or UAS system/platform operations is desired. Understanding of, and proficiency with, the development and generation of key elements of documentation associated with the acquisition and sustainment of UAS systems is desired.
