A Systems Engineer applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to the analyses, design, development and verification of COMINT systems, focusing on network architecture, design, implementation and test. This individual will assist with evaluating customer/operational needs in order to refine system performance and functional requirements and define physical, functional and program interfaces. In addition, the selected candidate will assist with various analyses to develop and optimize the system architecture; including system testing, performing root cause analysis and defining corrective action. 

Basic job tasks will include:

  • Establish networking environment by designing system configuration, perform system installation, define and document system standards. Includes virtual and physical systems
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance and troubleshoot network problems and outages.
  • Secure network system by establishing, documenting, auditing and enforcing policies.
  • Requirements analysis and maintenance.
  • System design activities including researching alternative solutions and providing decision analysis reports.
  • Design and develop verification tests.
  • Hardware integration and testing.
  • Software integration on Linux, Windows and embedded real time processors.
  • Testing and debugging Java and C/C++ code in Windows and/or Linux environments

Qualifications 

Typical Education and Experience

 

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Three (3) years’ experience with computing equipment and operating systems, primarily Linux/Unix and Windows, including system configuration and security is required.
  • Systems integration experience, including application database experience and integration across computing platforms is required. .
  • Education or experience with network communication concepts and architectures, including network transport services and concepts is required.
  • A current Top Secret SCI clearance is required

 

Preferred

  • Education or experience with virtualization environments and automated deployment methods for servers and workstations is desired
  • Experience working with scripting languages is desired

 

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
