Boeing has an exciting opportunity for a Mid Level (Level 2) Systems Engineer, specializing in integration, verification and validation, to join our dynamic National Team in Colorado Springs, CO or in Huntsville, AL.

 

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

 

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The National Team - C2BMC provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to)

  • Integrate C2BMC software into the C2BMC test suites; develop site and event specific configurations to support test, war games, and exercise events; work with personnel to resolve test lab issues.
  • Work with C2BMC Operations and Sustainment personnel to resolve installation and processing issues at the customer sites.
  • Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files
  • Perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data; trouble shoot both test and operational issues.
  • Document test results and prepare test status documentation; author Spiral and build-level test plan documents and procedures; create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues.
  • Assist software development personnel with the investigation and resolution of issues; provide familiarization of Spiral release software capabilities and issues; develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures to test C2BMC in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities; support integration C2BMC tests with external elements and sensors; provide feedback of system specifications, development, test, network documents as necessary. 
  • Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration

This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Bachelor Degree or higher education.
  • Experience testing software in an integrated test environment.
  • Experience in system engineering.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Systems Integration and System/Software Testing concepts.
  • Experience in the integration of system components within an integrated test environment;
  • Working knowledge of system design and overall integration into an operational environment; expertise with programming; proficiency with UNIX, including shell scripting; basic knowledge of Windows and Unix environments; knowledge in test plan/procedure preparation and test execution concepts.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of troubleshooting of small to large scale systems within a highly redundant network infrastructure.
  • Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system.
  • Experience with scripting languages (developing, debugging and maintaining).
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code.

Preferred Skills:

  • BA/BS in Engineering/Computer Science or a related technical discipline.  HIGHLY preferred.
  • Security + certification Required.  Must have Security Plus certification or equivalent within 60 calendar days following start.
  • Experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
  • Experience with operational systems (e.g. Aegis, Patriot), development systems (e.g. GMD, THAAD, Aegis), and off-the-shelf statistical analysis packages a plus. 
    Familiarity with Java and object oriented development a plus. 
    Experience with VM Horizon View a plus

  

Typical Experience and Education: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
