Job Description

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Global Services & Support - Modification & Sustainment organization with upgrades and logistics support of the E-4B Advanced Airborne Command Post. This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 

Responsibilities

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluate customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Perform analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolve cross-functional technical issues.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications

  • This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Experience in leading the analysis, testing, sustainment, and refresh of aircraft systems, with specific experience in Environmental Control Systems (ECS).
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplined teams in establishing comprehensive aircraft test programs, leading on-aircraft test efforts on large aircraft, and performing detailed data reduction and analysis efforts.
  • Experience in creating new aircraft systems analysis techniques to be applied to large aircraft, and balancing aircraft system design refresh recommendations with design requirements from the various engineering design disciplines resulting in a balanced system design.

 

 

Preferred Skills

Experience in designing, analyzing, testing, and integrating ECS systems, as well as leading multi-disciplined engineering teams in complex problem solving efforts. In addition, the candidate will have experience in leading multi-disciplined team of engineers, field service representatives, Boeing technicians, and US Air Force maintainers in developing systems engineering solutions to problem solving on large Aircraft.

 

 

Typical Education / Experience

Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
