Job Description

Boeing is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our E-4B Advanced Airborne Command Post organization, which provides engineering and logistics support services to the Air Force for their fleet of E-4B aircraft.  This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 
As a Systems Engineer for this organization, you will be part of a team providing engineering and logistics support to the Air Force to help maintain and sustain their fleet of E-4B aircraft.  The successful candidate will evaluate aircraft and component Service Literature (i.e. Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, etc.); perform configuration management and assist with scheduling upon receipt of Air Force disposition; lead projects to solve challenging Program issues; and resolve a wide range of complex technical, operational, and cross functional issues to ensure the continued safe operation of the E-4B fleet.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze Original Equipment Manufacturer and Federal Aviation Administration Service Literature and provide recommendations tailored to the E-4B fleet.
  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to resolve cross functional issues and provide solutions intended to improve system performance and increase operational availability.
  • Lead projects, perform research, and develop engineering solutions to resolve complex Program issues.
  • Participate on teams to resolve a wide range of complex technical and operational issues associated with in-service aircraft, depot maintenance, modifications, and repair. 
  • Collaborate with Logistics Analysts, Customers and Suppliers to resolve part and material issues.
  • Assist in maintaining configuration control for the E-4B aircraft and the parts inventory.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplined team to ensure customer contractual requirements are met.

Qualifications 

Typical Education / Experience: 
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

 

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry?
  • Experience researching, producing and presenting technical information?
