Under the general direction of the Engineering Supervisor of Manufacturing Control Engineering, the Computer Systems Engineer defines the system based on the latest computer technology available. Responsibilities include defining the system requirements, reviewing the requirements with the users, implementing the required system software additions and modifications, and documenting the system. Within Manufacturing Control Engineering, the Computer Systems Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor. The Computer Systems Engineer normally operates independently, but may occasionally supervise the efforts of supporting engineering designers or technicians in data collection required to resolve software or interfacing hardware problems.
