Manage tax research and tax planning functions for U.S. multi-national corporation and foreign subsidiaries. Monitor legislative developments; liaise with tax authorities for special projects associated with change in methods and/or litigation. Manages tax planning initiatives; determines tax consequences of commercial transactions; develops sustainable and supportable tax filing positions; conducts tax research. Requires broad-based knowledge of Federal, International, and State and Local taxes.
50% Manage tax planning and work with outside tax counsel, as necessary, in area of tax specialization. Researches and analyzes tax consequences of commercial transactions, ordinary course transactions and business unit initiatives and communicate consequences to Company management.
30% Oversees tax reporting, compliance and controversy functions, including review of certain tax filings.
10% Monitor tax legislative matters, developments and case law in assigned area of tax specialization. Communicate with NetJets Owners, without providing tax advice, on issues related to area of tax specialization.
10% Self-development and development of staff
Course of Study/Major: Accounting, Taxation or related field
Type of Credentials/Licenses: CPA preferred
Related Work Experience: 6-8 years
Experience in the field of taxation required, including experience in the areas of tax controversy and tax research. Thorough knowledge of taxation and tax concepts in all areas of tax (international, state and local, sales/use and property tax, etc.) required, although working knowledge in certain areas acceptable; thorough knowledge and significant experience in the area of tax controversy required; tax accounting experience required. All qualities listed above, supplemented by experience in tax planning, reorganizations and tax driven transactions. Experience with companies filing consolidated returns required.
