Job Description

The Technical Writer-Mtc Programs reports to the Manager-Mtc Programs.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Convert current Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance tasks and procedures into MROS (TRAX) task cards.
  • Incorporate the Air Transportation Oversight System (ATOS) Safety attributes into all processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive instructions to ensure task cards are in compliance with and remain in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and ExpressJet's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the MROS/TRAX task cards updates as revised by the OEM.
  • Assist other Maintenance & Engineering departments in the development and authoring of task cards and procedures.
  • Perform research of Manufacturer Service Bulletins, Repair authorizations, Airworthiness Directives, Inspection Programs and other technical data as requested.
  • Assist in authoring Engineering Authorizations and task cards with MROS (TRAX).
  • Assist the inspection programs team in authoring/maintaining ExpressJet's custom inspection program.
  • Other duties as assigned/requried.




  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn proprietary software systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend aircraft and component maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to follow instructions both verbal and written.
  • Experience in MROS (TRAX).


  • Detailed knowledge of FAA regulations, procedures and policies.
  • Detailed knowledge of ExpressJet's General Maintenance Manual.
  • Experience in creating MROS Engineering Controls and Task Cards.
