MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE
Performs a variety of duties fabricating electronic and electromechanical hardware. Level 2 Technicians fabricate and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies used in or on equipment for military customers. Duties involve working with design and integration Engineers, interpreting assignments from electrical schematics, engineering drawings and other forms of written or verbal instructions to fabricate deliverable and/or test hardware such as cable assemblies, test boxes and small circuit cards in a fast paced fabrication environment.Other daily activities also include using several computer based programs that will update job status, process Quality Inspections, and support Engineering changes.
High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 3 Year of experience.Candidate must be capable in the of use of hand tools, wire strippers, soldering irons, etc., with the ability to use standard test equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, etc.. Demonstrated ability to fabricate wiring harnesses and cable harnesses, solder large pitched and fine pitched through hole and surface mounted devices is essential. Occasionally this involves working under a microscope.Possess the ability read and follow mechanical/electrical drawings in order to fabricate complex prototypes. Physically able to lift 25 lbs. Rack and stack instruments with assistance as required.
Experience with soldering very finely pitched surface mounted printed wiring board devices to the requirements of J-STD-001 is desired. Experience with light weight mechanical hand tools such as torque wrenches, drill presses, manual metal punches, etc., is desired.
