The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to the Maintenance Manager for coordination of all TH-57 maintenance functions as outlined in the Government contract. Responsible for leadership and direct management of the people and processes to ensure safe, expeditious maintenance of assigned aircraft to support the Navy Flight Training Program. Responsible for drafting, publishing and up-keep of Maintenance/Work Instructions and conformance to Navy, Commercial and ISOstandards. The Maintenance Team functions include administration and management of the following:
* Flight-line launch/recovery and servicing
* Scheduled/Unscheduled Maintenance
* Conditional Maintenance
* Aviators Life Support Equipment
* Ground Support Equipment
* Subcontracted maintenance support
* Off-Site/On-Call Maintenance and Off-Site Emergency Repair
Must have the necessary leadership and management skills to lead a large workforce in complying with established policies, procedures and operations to support the Navy’s Flight Training Program.
Extensive working knowledge gained through management experience, of the Navy’s aircraft maintenance procedures, including OPNAVINST 4790.2 series and OPNAVINST 3750 series.
In-depth knowledge of the TH-57 contract, Company organization and Company policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely on aircraft maintenance and material support matters, both orally and in writing.
Computer literacy highly desired.
May be required to travel on Company business.
* Supervise the assignment and direction of the productive efforts of assigned employees.
* Plan, coordinate and direct the activities of the Maintenance Team in the maintenance and repair of TH-57 aircraft in support of flight training operations.
* Perform management analysis and workload planning to ensure customer service and company goals are met. These include, but are not limited to estimating/tracking of conditional maintenance, modifications, Aircraft Condition Inspection (ACI) efforts to achieve established budget, schedule and quality goals.
* Ensure Maintenance/Work Instructions are issued to define maintenance procedures not outlined in available technical data, or for requirements specified in government directives.
* Interface with the customer to assure their needs are met.
* Team with the Quality Manager to analyze maintenance data to identify trends and deficiencies.
* Evaluate existing methods, systems and potential improvements for compliance to maintenance and flight schedule requirements and ensure cost effectiveness, productivity and personnel safety.
* Maintain various forms of data and records in support of periodic required reports.
* Submit to the Maintenance Manager any recommendations for manpower, materials, facilities and capital equipment.
* May be designated as the Company’s Weight and Balance Officer on this contract.
* Actively support the Company’s safety philosophy and programs. Investigate all accidents and injuries of assigned personnel and take action to prevent similar incidents.
* When off site emergency repairs of aircraft are needed, determine and coordinate the most expeditious and cost effective means to obtain repairs/recover aircraft.
* Prepare cost estimates and obtain government approval for conditional maintenance repairs, ACI over and above repairs, and depot-level In-Service repairs.
* Coordinate with QA to determine if and obtain manufacturer approval for, repairs that may exceed established limits.
* Advise the Maintenance Manager of the status of work in progress and coordinate with other work centers and departments as required to accomplish tasks.
* Participate in the interview, selection and training processes for potential/new employees.
* Instruct assigned employees on proper methods and procedures as required.
* Investigate and resolve employee’s complaints. Be thoroughly familiar with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); may resolve Step 1 grievances in accordance with the CBA.
* Be thoroughly familiar with and support Company policies and procedures.
* Counsel and/or discipline employees verbally or in writing as needed to enforce Company policies, directives and CBA requirements following progressive disciplinary procedures.
* Comply with Hazardous Waste Program. When assigned, act as Hazardous Waste Coordinator.
* Responsible for enforcement of the Tool Control Program.
* Responsible for enforcement of the Company’s FOD prevention rules and regulations.
* Enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure personnel safety and the security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.
* Ensure compliance with required Quality Control policies and inspections.
* Assist in the Training Program as required for employees.
* Must be customer oriented.
* Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed within the job classification.
Educational Requirements: High School diploma with 12 years qualifying experience, or Associates degree and 8 years related exempt, or Bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience.
In addition to the educational experience, candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years helicopter maintenance experience. Must have three (3) years of aviation maintenance supervisory experience.

Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement. The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview. Some travel will be required.
