General responsibilities of the position: - The successful candidate will be required to perform simple and complex operational tasks, manufacturing, modifying and repairing a wide range of tools and gauges in a variety of formats and geometries
- The successful candidate will be required to work from drawings, photos, sketches and verbal instructions regarding the equipment and methods to be used in order to set, operate and adjust conventional machine tools or numerical control machine tools, to machine and repair new and used jigs and gauges
- The tooler will plan the work to be carried out by the machinists on different types of machine
- He will manufacture moulds and mix and melt products
- He will be responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments. He will keep the relevant logbooks up to date
- He must maintain inventories of critical information for repairing gauges and jigs
- He will be required to participate in the development of new tools in order to meet customer needs
- He will be involved in resolving problems that arise on production lines by improving tools in collaboration with planners and designers
- He will wash, store, package and move parts, while ensuring that standards and specifications are met
- He will perform routine maintenance to ensure that fluid levels are correct, filters are clean and that the general condition of the machine complies with the checklist etc.
- He will work as part of a team, but must be able to work with a high level of autonomy. He will also participate in training and share knowledge with team mates
- He will organize and keep the workstation in order at all times, and respect our high standards regarding occupational health and safety
