Job Description

American Airlines Credit Union has an opportunity for a UX Designer with strong front-end development skills to join the Marketing Digital Web Services team at our headquarters location in Fort Worth, TX.  This position reports directly to the UX Design Manager and will be responsible for supporting the Marketing team of Product Analysts, as well as other business unit teams, with the design, development and implementation of solution updates for the company’s main website and related cross-channel marketing web services applications.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Job level to be determined based upon qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Job level to be determined based upon qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•       Works in collaboration with the UX Design Manager, to review and provide ongoing design and coding solutions for the American Airlines Credit Union main website, ancillary sites and digital channels.

•       Email campaign management, including creating content structure, content entry, data mapping and integration. Building and executing campaigns in a timely manner to support marketing business development and promotional goals.

•       Assists with strategic creative thinking and collaboration support to help provide web services design and development solutions for Marketing Analysts’ product campaigns, including managing microsites and applications built on content management systems.

•       Working with the UX Design Manager for UX Design research and discovery phases.

•       Build secure form solutions and/or work with third-party agency to maintain and update existing form solutions.

•       Assists with evaluating and testing markup and code to ensure that it is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices or operating systems.

•       Working in concert with the UX Design Manager, internal information security team and third-party business partners, to maintain secure access and backup support for web hosting and content management services.

•       On-call backup support for related website maintenance, service events and/or updates related to business continuity communications.

Job Qualifications

   High school diploma or GED required.

·         Associate’s Degree in Web Design and Development, UX Design Certification, or related fields; or 2-3 years of directly related experience strongly preferred.

·         Experience working in the financial industry, with the understanding of the need for data security, a strong attention to detail and a passion for quality is a plus.

·         Familiarity with American Airlines Credit Union products, brand and vision is an advantage.

·         Digital Marketing experience is an advantage.

·         Front-end development skill set:  HTML5, CSS3, JS, jQuery, JSON, XML and the knowledge of how it functions with back-end development specifically within the .NET framework (ASP.NET, C#), from older versions to most recent recommendations.

·         Recent experience with projects involving progressive enhancement, (responsive/adaptive) design is preferred.

·         Strong experience with prototyping, debugging and cross-browser/device testing, preferred.

·         Experience with back-end web development and the Microsoft Web Platform (IIS), from older to most recent versions, along with working knowledge of web services APIs, a plus.

  •  Experience with Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, WebTrends or similar, a plus.
  •  Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • ·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with a diverse set of people from various disciplines and levels of management.
  • ·         Must be an independent contributor able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-direction, yet also capable of occasionally working with internal and external business teams or creative agencies.
  • ·         Demonstrated experience of how to problem-solve and provide solution for small web services project may be required as a portion of the hiring process by the hiring manager.  Portfolios are welcomed and preferred, but will not be accepted in lieu of this project.
  • ·         On-call availability, sometimes requiring evening or weekend hours.
  • ·         Ability to work in a busy environment and to sit for prolonged periods of time while operating a computer.
  • ·         Satisfactory performance and attendance are required.
  • ·         Candidates will be required to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks.
  • ·         Must have acceptable credit history, which will be verified (e.g., no past due accounts, charge-offs, collection items or bankruptcies).
