Analytics & Information Management Services (AIMS) is seeking a User Experience/Product Designer to lead products from user research through iterative development and delivery in a new and growing organization.

This position is located in Bellevue, Washington and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Boeing Information Technology & Data Analytics (IT&DA) has launched a strategic initiative to build a collaborative and agile platform for data analytics. The Boeing AnalytX Platform is a digital accelerator focused on enabling users throughout Boeing to effortlessly use data to drive every decision within Boeing.

Our focus is on using user-centric design as a key to innovative data solutions, empowering all types of users for analytics self-service, and building an active internal community.

This position will place you at heart of a fast-paced, growing organization and to shape the program as it is being created.

You will have the opportunity to:

Partner with project teams to understand business requirements and technical limitations,

*

Be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.

The UX designer will design the overall functionality of key products of Boeing AnalytX Platform, engaging directly with end-user to design great user experiences.

Job responsibilities include:

*

Partners with project teams to perform user-centered design activities that actively involve users throughout all phases of a project to ensure product usability.

*

Guides product decisions by conducting user research such as interviews and facilitating iterative feedback loops.

*

Defines user requirements, user flows, and usability goals.

*

Creates user interaction design alternatives, and conveys designs by building prototypes and style guides.

*

Conducts iterative usability tests to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the designs.

*

Diagnoses and prioritizes usability issues and refines designs or recommends changes.

*

Contributes to the development of the User Experience (UX) design discipline through development of user-centered design best practices.

*

Provides mentoring to UX design employees to grow the discipline of user centered design and agile software development methodology within Boeing Information Technology.

Qualifications

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

*

Ability to collaborate with users, clients, product managers, developers, and fellow designers to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.

*

Ability to determine the user-centered design strategy and lead the Boeing AnalytX customers through research, prototypes, iterative design and development, and the delivery process

*

Ability to develop the visual design, branding and data visualizations to produce modern, compelling products

*

Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.

*

A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.

*

More than 1 year experience User-Centered design, usability, and interaction or visual design

*

Ability to communicate design rationale to stakeholders and continuously advocate for the end user

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)

*

Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills

*

Experience working in Lean/Agile software development and rapid iterative design and delivery of products

*

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Human Centered Design, Visual Design, Computer Science

*

More than 1 year experience in digital design software: Balsamiq, Sketch, Omnigraffle, or the Adobe Creative Suite

Typical Education and Experience
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
