Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and lead strategies and objectives for Quality Systems, Processes, and Export/Import Control
•Ensures compliance with ITAR/EAR/CBP regulations throughout the organization
•Company interface with Export/Import regulatory bodies (DDTC, BIS, CBP) on export/import licensing, voluntary disclosures and outreach/training programs.
•Ensures overall needs for regulatory compliance and interface with regulatory institutions (FAA, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), etc…); ensure Quality Assurance meets the requirements of the AS 9100 / 9110 standard
•Serves as company Risk and Crisis leader
•Identifies and implements best practice Quality standards and behaviors focusing on preventive actions to underpin the integrity of Quality management within the business
•Drives a robust approach to quality improvement based on a thorough understanding of root-cause analysis. Works with Production, Customer Support, Strategic Sourcing, and Engineering to reduce quality issues through the analysis and solution of recurring quality problems
•Establishes, monitors, and improves consistent Global KPIs –Cost of Failure (COF), First Time Pass (FTP), external PPM (customer rejection) reduction, etc…Reports monthly KPI results and Action Plans (countermeasures) when target objectives are not achieved
•Troubleshoots major quality issues and works with our customers to provide joint solutions that meet business requirements
•Serves as the principal site spokesperson with customers, regulatory agencies, etc., on matters of regulatory compliance
•Ensures that change control and validation protocols are well designed and rigorously applied
Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
•Requires bachelor or advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
•10 +years of experience in Quality, Program Management, and Export/Import Control within a manufacturing, production, or component assembly environment
•Must have experience using quality management systems (ISO 9001)
•Experience supporting regulatory filings and leading product-related inspections for regulatory agencies
•Must have effective interpersonal communication skills including ability to negotiate, articulate assumptions, and recommend alternatives
•Ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
•Collaborative leadership style with a "one company" mindset.
•Excellent communication with interpersonal and analytical skills
•Self-starter with unquestionable integrity
